Road Trip Day 4: Banff -> Jasper

Sunday: July 19, 2020

We woke up this morning at 7am, packed up, said goodbye to Robbie (Rob) *My mums first cousin, we stayed with him for 2 nights! So generous of him.

We started our drive to Jasper, it was a 6 hour drive total from Banff to Jasper.

However, that’s including a stop at Moraine Lake *sooooo stunning, a coffee stop at Lake Louise village, and a waterfall stop close to Jasper.

We arrived at the Fairmont Jasper Lodge, and wow is it ever stunning! It isn’t a chateau, it’s like a community. So many different activities, on the lake.

We tried to go to the driving range, but it didn’t seem that great. It was more of a warm up for people about to play the course.

Then we went to try to paddle board but it was 5:45 and last call was at 5pm.. Oh well, we can try tomorrow morning.

So then we decided to check out the pool for a bit, everything’s a bit tricky due to covid. We had to wait maybe 15 mins to get in since there’s a limit of 25 people by the pool at a time. We were allowed an hour, we left just before it. Showered and headed into Jasper town to get pizza at the Jasper Pizza Place (we got 2 10in pizzas, they were kind of small but enough food, we like to eat a lot so would recommend a 12’) and wine (lLiquor store to the right of pizza) and have a picnic by the lake. As we we’re waiting for the pizza we got ice cream.. duh.

At this point Seb and I were starting to get a little hangry, but it all worked out we got our food and had the most beautiful dinner by the lake.

Just as we were getting up to leave we saw an Elk wondering around the resort grass field. It was so great. Seb was so happy because he really wanted to see some wild life.

Now I’m brushing my teeth, its 10:30pm and we might watch a movie then get to bed :)

Been a hell of a time so far!
