The Power of Music

“Music is the strongest form of magic.”

-Marilyn Manson

Probably one of the most powerful things.. I’m not even kidding.

Music has the power to put me into ANY mood. It’s fascinating how it works really. Songs can bring you back to the first moment you heard them. Depending what time in my life I was listening to a specific song, even hearing it years later can instantly make me feel happy or sad depending how I felt at the time.

You can use music to your advantage. Personally I always use it to get me in the mood for a run or workout. Or to help me sleep. Whatever it is, music always achieves the goal.

It has been said that scientists found that music stimulates more parts of the brain than any other human function. Obviously take everything you hear/read with a grain of salt. But still an interesting point. Besides using music to get you pumped for a workout - sound therapy has been used to enhance sleep, work, concentration, and communication. It helps connect different parts of the brain.

“Sound healing is the practice of using audio tones and vibrational frequencies to repair damaged tissue and cells within the body.” “One can infer that the therapy offered by music when mixed with exercise and counselling on a regular basis could offer relief to individuals experiencing feelings of depression and anxiety.” (Source)

Music is a universal language. You don’t have to understand the lyrics for it to affect your mood. Use the power of music towards your advantage! Put on some rave music and get to the gym ;)
